Recalling of Cinderella
(If the Fairy Godmother was actually Cinderella’s Stepmother)
Fairy Godmother never explained clearly.
The consequences if Cinderella overstayed.
Even so Cinderella had no fear,
The night still so young enchanted the girl
Slowly the promise slipped her mind
The Prince twirled her along the ballroom
Time drifted passed her in waves.
Above lights flickered from chandeliers
Soon the clock will strike twelve
Cinderella paid any mind to it
Nor to the crowd whose faces mended together
Or how they inched closer to them
The two continued dancing to the soothing melody
Her joy short lived as a menacing ring shook the palace
Cinderella, true to her words dashed to the exit
The once ignored crowd moved to her
Their outstretched hands groped for the blue dress.
When she reached the stairs,
They stilled at the bottom staring blankly above.
Outside the castle the Prince called out to her.
Cinderella caught sight of his appearance.
Tiny spiders crawled out of his eyes.
Blood trickled down his mouth.
Mortified Cinderella bolted down the stairs faster.
The worst was yet to come.
Magic swirled around the fleeing figure.
Slowly it peeled away her skin along with the dress.
Then suddenly the heels shattered.
Glass wedged deep into the sole of her feet.
Cinderella tumbled down the stairs.
Behind a person descend calmly.
“Quite a lovely dance,” A familiar voice spoke.
Black heels halted at the trembling body.
Their smooth hands pulled her bloodied hair.
Her gaze met the person's, it was her step-mother.
“Did you have your fun?”
Tears slid down Cinderella’s pale face.
“I certainly did.”
